Today we got Wes’ one-year portraits taken. And poor Wes was a trooper, but the odds were not in his favor.
First of all, he nap-striked. So he was more sensitive than he otherwise would have been. While waiting for our turn in the studio, Wes learned how much fun it can be to run out into the center of the mall with Mom hot on his tail. However getting him to forget that fun once we got into the studio proved tricky. He kept darting out the door (and under the curtain once we pulled it shut) and was not happy that we were preventing him from reliving his escape scenario. There were tears.
We finally got him focused on the task at hand, and got the first shots taken. While setting up for the second shot, Wes decided to play on the moon prop. Which was all great and grand until he slipped and clunked his mouth on the hard plastic edge. Walah. Instant screaming baby with blood in his mouth. Nice.
So, we got him through that crisis and another photo set up. And this time when walking off of the backdrop, he tripped and clunked his head on the floor, resulting in a red bump and more tears.
He did make it through the final shots, but was increasingly unhappy and reluctant to leave Mom’s lap. Poor Wes.
Anyhoo, I have not yet picked up those photos. What I did realize, however, is that I have neglected to post some portraits from earlier on. So without further adeiu, here are some Wes 7-month photos.
